Rachel McAdams is distancing herself from Hollywood, opting instead for a more tranquil life in the South. The acclaimed actress has listed her long-time Los Angeles residence for $4 million, as reported by Realtor. Known for her memorable performances in films such as The Notebook and Mean Girls, McAdams bought this midcentury modern home in August 2011 for $1.67 million alongside her husband, screenwriter Jamie Linden.

Situated in the picturesque Los Feliz neighborhood, this four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom dwelling is fully gated and equipped with extensive security measures for optimum privacy. It embodies the quintessential Los Angeles indoor-outdoor lifestyle, featuring a living space that seamlessly opens to the outdoors and a spacious dining area that connects to an expansive outdoor deck. The backyard is designed for both entertaining and relaxation, complete with a lounge area that overlooks a pool and spa featuring a soothing waterfall. The kitchen boasts a cozy built-in breakfast nook alongside high-end Viking appliances.

The primary suite is enhanced by large bay windows, a private bathroom, and custom closets. Additionally, the lower level boasts an entertainment room complete with a fireplace, a fully stocked kitchenette, and a 120-inch concealed theater screen and projector, delivering an authentic movie theater experience.

In a recent interview with Bustle in 2023, McAdams discussed her decision to move away from the fast-paced Hollywood lifestyle. She revealed that she and Linden have relocated to the South with their two children and pets. While she chose not to disclose her exact location, she emphasized that this new home offers ample opportunities for quality family time, often shared through leisurely bike rides around town with her child. “The relocation really helped me feel empowered,” she expressed. “It helped me feel like I was taking back some control. And I think it sort of allowed me to come in from a different doorway.”
