Radhika Apte and Benedict Taylor welcomed their first child in December 2024.
Radhika Apte embraced the journey of motherhood in December.
The acclaimed actress, Radhika Apte, and her husband, British musician Benedict Taylor, celebrated the arrival of their first child in December 2024. Their paths crossed in London in 2011, leading to a marriage in a quaint ceremony in 2012 and a more formal celebration in 2013.
Apte recently shared a relatable moment from her attendance at the BAFTA awards, striking a balance between her glamorous appearance and the challenges of being a new mother. Sporting an elegant yet comfortable satin outfit, Radhika joyfully recounted the experience of expressing milk in the washroom while holding a glass of champagne.
In a heartfelt social media post, she expressed gratitude towards her friend Natasha for her thoughtful support during the event, which included organizing her schedule around breastfeeding needs and ensuring she had champagne available during her brief breaks.
She wrote in her caption, “And now my BAFTAs reality #breastfeeding #postpartum #breastpump. I have to thank Natasha @tashtash07 for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast pumping timings. She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but more importantly brought me champagne in the loo . It’s hard as is to be a new mum and work; this level of care and sensitivity is rare in our film industry and much appreciated.”
Prior to this candid reveal, Radhika had shared a series of photos from the awards night, conveying excitement and gratitude. She remarked, “Sister Midnight at the BAFTAs. Big congratulations to @deathpunkbaby for the nomination. First big outing after birth… 2 months postpartum… 2 hours of sleep… I couldn’t have done it without the fabulous people in the team. THANK YOU.”
Radhika’s film, Sister Midnight, received a nomination for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer at the 78th BAFTA Awards. Directed by Karan Kandhari in his debut, the film portrays Radhika as a woman navigating the difficulties of an unhappy arranged marriage.
