Radhika Apte’s First Look Goes Viral: Welcomes New Chapter of Motherhood

Radhika Apte recently unveiled a captivating first look from her upcoming film, igniting considerable enthusiasm among her fans. The actress, who embraced motherhood with the birth of her first child, a daughter, with husband Benedict Taylor in December 2024, is set to make her cinematic return in the film Sister Midnight, scheduled for release on May 16.

In an engaging post on her Instagram stories, Radhika showcased her striking new look, dressed in a saree and holding a mopping broom. The reveal was accompanied by an announcement about the film, which is inspired by the classic ‘Taxi Driver’. The film is penned and directed by Karan Kandhari and will debut in theaters in New York on May 16, followed by screenings in Los Angeles on May 23, and subsequently rolled out in other cities. Fans were encouraged to add it to their watchlists via a link in her bio.

The look quickly attracted attention online, with many fans expressing their excitement. One commented, “I saw the trailer and this will be an epic movie,” while another noted the resemblance to the iconic poster of the 1976 film, ‘Taxi Driver’. Radhika’s most recent film appearance was a cameo in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas.

Despite her rising popularity, Radhika prefers to maintain a degree of privacy around her personal life. In an earlier interview with ETimes, she shared insights into her experience with pregnancy, remarking, “I thought maybe they wouldn’t notice the bump, but it was too big. If there were no premiere, you would probably have never known. I was never going to post saying, ‘Oh, I’m pregnant.’ I was never going to post saying, ‘Oh, we had a child’. It’s private.”

Addressing the challenges of pregnancy, Radhika described her journey as anything but easy. She said, “Pregnancy is not fun. Some people have a better pregnancy; for some, it’s easier than other people. But it’s a very subjective case. Pregnancy is very hard, and bodies constantly go through very big changes. So, it’s been a hard journey. I do not wish to lie about it. It’s been very to prepare yourself psychologically and physically for what is coming, especially if you’re a very active person.”
