Sherlyn Chopra’s Respectful Gesture During Mukerji Family’s Durga Pandal Celebrations
During the festive season of Dussehra, the Mukerji family’s Durga pandal in Mumbai was alive with activity and notable figures. One particularly memorable event took place during the sindoor khela, a traditional ritual where vermilion is applied to each other as a sign of festivity and goodwill. Sherlyn Chopra approached Rani Mukerji with the intention of showing her respect through the customary act of touching her feet.
A video that circulated on social media, shared by the paparazzi account Filmygyan, captured the moment as Sherlyn, wearing a decorative red and gold silk saree with fresh flowers adorning her hair, smiled and approached Rani. As she made her gesture, Rani, taken aback, promptly waved her off, indicating that it wasn’t necessary. The two actresses then engaged in a delightful exchange as they each applied sindoor to one another, with Sherlyn offering her gratitude before leaving the scene. Rani complemented the occasion beautifully in a cream and gold saree paired with a striking red blouse.
This year’s Durga puja gathering was particularly special as Rani and her cousin Kajol co-hosted the festivities near SNDT Women’s University in Juhu. The event attracted several prominent figures from Bollywood, including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Jaya Bachchan, and Ajay Devgn. Ayan Mukerji, another member of the Mukerji family, regularly participated, reinforcing the family tradition of coming together to celebrate Navratri.
Rani made headlines earlier at the pandal when she was seen interacting amicably with Ranbir Kapoor, embodying the spirit of celebration. Delightful footage showcased their friendly banter, with Rani radiating in a vibrant yellow saree while posing for photographs with him.
Another touching instance that captured the attention of viewers featured Kajol and Jaya Bachchan sharing a heartfelt moment. A video revealed Jaya leaning in to plant a kiss on Kajol’s cheek, followed by an affectionate embrace between the two.
On the professional front, Rani Mukerji recently starred in the film “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway” (2023) and is expected to reprise her role as the formidable cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in “Mardaani 3”. Furthermore, she is reportedly in discussions to join a family drama directed by Shonali Bose, though details have yet to be officially confirmed.
