Ranveer, known as BeerBiceps on social media, celebrates with a jubilant Instagram post featuring a black suitcase.
Ranveer Allahbadia has successfully departed from India after navigating through a series of legal challenges related to the controversy surrounding “India’s Got Latent.” On Monday, a decision from the Supreme Court mandated the police to return the podcaster’s passport, confirming that investigations by both the Assam and Maharashtra governments had concluded.
In response to this favorable ruling, Ranveer, widely recognized as BeerBiceps, shared a jubilant moment on Instagram, showcasing a black suitcase and exclaiming, “passport mil gaya guys,” delighting his followers.
In March, Ranveer submitted a request for the return of his passport, emphasizing the need for frequent travel associated with his role, particularly for interviews on his acclaimed program, The Ranveer Show.
A bench consisting of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh directed Ranveer to contact the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Bureau, where his passport had been held. They instructed him to fully cooperate with authorities throughout the ongoing legal process until a charge sheet was filed.
The bench stated, “Solicitor General Tushar Mehta has indicated that the investigations in both Assam and Maharashtra regarding Mr. Allahbadia are complete. Therefore, we permit the petitioner to seek the release of his passport from the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Bureau. Upon such a request, the passport will be returned under reasonable terms and conditions.”
The court also noted that the Cyber Crime Bureau has the authority to establish reasonable terms during the passport release process.
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court provided interim protection to Ranveer, safeguarding him from arrest due to his contentious comments made on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. From March 3 onward, he received permission to resume airing episodes of The Ranveer Show, provided he adhered to the standards of “morality and decency.” Ranveer had publicly apologized on two occasions for his comments prior to the relaunch of his online series.
