KUKA has long been at the forefront of the industrial robotics sector, renowned for its advanced robotic arms. Recently, the company has expanded its capabilities into mobile robotics, marking a significant evolution in its product offerings in late 2023.

In this latest development, KUKA launched three new autonomous mobile robots (AMRs): the KMR iisy mobile cobot, KMP 1500P, and KMP 600-S diffDrive. The KMR iisy is particularly noteworthy as it integrates a collaborative robot (cobot) capable of lifting between 11 to 15 kg (24.2 to 33 lb.) while also featuring a mobile base that supports an extra load of up to 200 kg (440.9 lb.).

The KMP 1500P is geared towards heavy-duty tasks, designed to transport payloads of 1.5 tons, making it suitable for substantial logistical operations. Meanwhile, the KMP-600S model can handle loads up to 600 kg (132.2 lb.), catering to a variety of industrial needs.

KUKA’s autonomous mobile robots are poised to serve multiple sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, and automotive industries. Older models in KUKA’s lineup are equipped with omnidirectional capabilities, allowing for unparalleled maneuverability and precision, even when transporting significant weights. Furthermore, these AMRs are outfitted with sophisticated sensor technology, user-friendly programming interfaces, next-generation battery systems, and enhanced energy density.

As KUKA positions itself among a crowded field of companies with robust mobile robotics solutions, it stands out due to its established reputation and comprehensive approach to automation. The launch of this “new AMR generation” underscores the company’s commitment to advancing the field of mobile robotics.

With the introduction of these innovative models, KUKA strengthens its role as a leader in automation solutions, differentiating itself from competitors by offering a broad spectrum of robotic technology under one roof.
