Investigation Underway into Possible Homicide in North Okanagan

Authorities are investigating a potential homicide following the discovery of a body in a residence located in the North Okanagan on Thursday. The Vernon RCMP were alerted to a disturbance at approximately 3:15 a.m. on the 2100 block of 32nd Street, where they arrived to find a deceased individual.

Initially, three individuals were taken into custody for questioning; however, they have since been released, indicating that they may not be directly connected to the incident.

Constable Chris Terleski from the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP stated, “The Serious Crimes Unit has determined the death to be suspicious, and the case is being treated as a homicide.” This assertion underscores the serious nature of the investigation.

As investigators continue their work, the Serious Crimes Unit is collaborating with the RCMP Forensic Identification Services to gather evidence from the scene, which will be crucial to the ongoing inquiry.
