In a thrilling episode of The Masked Singer titled “Decades Night,” viewers tuned in to Mystery Mixed Radio to witness the Group C finals. Contestants Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, and Yorkie treated the audience to memorable performances, each selected from a significant decade. This week, one contestant secured automatic advancement to the Lucky Six, while the others battled it out in a dramatic showdown.
The panel, consisting of Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora, engaged in an analytical breakdown of the clues, eager to unmask the celebrity identities hidden behind the intricate costumes. As always, Nick Cannon hosted the lively event, which aired on Wednesday, April 9 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. Read on to find out who was ultimately revealed.
Yorkie
Yorkie transported us back to the 1960s, sharing poignant clues that echoed a personal narrative. “I chose the 60s because they remind me of my mom,” Yorkie revealed. Reflecting on a time of youthful innocence and love, Yorkie expressed the bittersweet experience of growing up amid family challenges. “My mom used her pain as a cautionary tale. She taught me to be cautious with my heart.” This emotional backdrop set the stage for her performance of “Stop! In the Name of Love” by the Supremes, culminating in a clue of a vinyl record labeled “Show Dog.” The panelists leaned towards guesses of Lori Loughlin (Robin), Kyle Richards (Ken), and Erika Jayne (Jenny).
Mad Scientist Monster
The next contestant, Mad Scientist Monster, shared insights from his life in the 2010s, noting, “I chose the 2010s because they were lit.” Reflecting on his career highs and personal growth, he acknowledged the lessons learned through changes in partnerships. “Sometimes chemistry changes — and that’s OK,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of self-love. This led him to deliver “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, accompanied by a 2010s-themed clue: an iPad marked “Season 4.” The panelists speculated a range of identities, including Brad Paisley (Ken), Blake Shelton (Jenny), and Billy Ray Cyrus (Rita).
Nessy
Finally, Nessy brought us back to the 1980s, a decade synonymous with bold fashion and music culture. “The ’80s were a time of mullets and MTV. It was a time to express love, with one of my favorite bands, REO Speedwagon,” he shared. With a performance of “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” Nessy highlighted his connection to this iconic band, even revealing a clue in the form of a cassette tape labeled “Bieber & Puth.” The panelists pondered guesses including Dave Matthews (Rita), Daryl Hall (Robin), and Patrick Monahan of Train (Ken).
The Battle Royale
Mad Scientist Monster emerged victorious, securing his place in the Lucky Six, leading to a face-off between Nessy and Yorkie in an intense Battle Royale. Each contestant delivered their unique rendition of “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding, further heightening the suspense.
The Elimination
Following the electrifying battle, Yorkie was revealed to be eliminated from the competition. Before revealing her identity, the panel was presented with a “Crack the Case” clue, which contained custom black leather boots. Upon inquiry, Yorkie noted, “These lucky boots are custom-made for me. My show boots are made for walking.” As the panel made their final guesses, they speculated on various personalities including Erika Jayne (Jenny), Paris Hilton (Rita), Kyle Richards (Ken), and Lori Loughlin (Robin). Ultimately, Yorkie unmasked herself as the controversial star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Las Vegas performer, Erika Jayne, much to Jenny’s delight, as she had correctly identified her.
