The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ album, Greatest Hits, continues to achieve notable milestones in the U.K. music charts, spending an impressive 450 weeks on the Official Albums list, significantly outpacing any other release in terms of longevity.
The renowned rock band is currently enjoying a successful moment with two projects making waves in the music scene. As one album resurfaces, the other celebrates a remarkable achievement, showcasing the band’s enduring appeal among fans in the United Kingdom.
Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Greatest Hits Soars in Popularity
Consistently charting in the U.K., Greatest Hits remains a fan favorite, showcasing a collection of the band’s most iconic songs. Recently, this compilation has shown an upward trend on various music charts.
Specifically, Greatest Hits has climbed the Official Albums Streaming chart, moving from No. 52 to No. 45. Additionally, it has made significant progress on the all-genre Official Albums ranking, ascending nine spots to No. 51. This latter chart highlights the full-length albums and EPs that experience the highest consumption rates in the country each week.
450 Weeks and Counting for Greatest Hits
This week, Greatest Hits has celebrated 450 weeks on the Official Albums chart — a remarkable accomplishment achieved by only a handful of albums. Notably, this marks the first instance where a Red Hot Chili Peppers album has reached this milestone.
While Greatest Hits leads in terms of longevity, it is not alone in showcasing the band’s successful catalog. Californication remains the second-longest-running album for the band, having spent 169 weeks on the charts. Close behind is Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which has accumulated a noteworthy 121 weeks.
Californication Makes a Comeback on Two Charts
In related news, Californication is also re-entering the music scene this week, although it is missing from the Official Albums chart. Instead, it has resurfaced on two other prominent rankings. This fan-favorite traditional album has reclaimed spots on the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 91 and the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 97.
Californication has recently celebrated its one-year anniversary on both of these lists. In fact, it boasts an extensive run on the physical albums tally, which measures only CD and vinyl sales, while surpassing a year on the broader purchases list.
