Red Tower Books Partners with Penguin Michael Joseph for Expansion in the U.K.
Red Tower Books, a division of Entangled Publishing, has announced a strategic partnership with Penguin Books in the United Kingdom. This collaboration will see the launch of the Red Tower imprint under the Penguin Michael Joseph branch, marking a significant milestone as it becomes the first new imprint in Penguin Michael Joseph’s nearly 90-year history.
The Red Tower imprint is set to make its U.K. debut this summer with the release of Devney Perry’s fantastical romance novel, Shield of Sparrows, scheduled to be available in the U.S. in May. Following this launch, three additional titles from the Red Tower collection are planned for release in 2025, with ambitions to publish a total of 12 new titles each year going forward.
Penguin Michael Joseph is well-known for its diverse roster of acclaimed authors, including Clive Cussler, Stephen Fry, Liane Moriarty, Jojo Moyes, Jodi Picoult, and Eckhart Tolle. The publishing house has also expanded its fantasy offerings significantly in recent years, featuring popular authors such as Raven Kennedy and Frances White. Notably, the imprint is set to publish SenLinYu’s new work, Alchemised, concurrently with Del Rey Books in September, showcasing its commitment to expanding its literary repertoire.
Since its inception in 2022, Red Tower has established itself as a formidable player in the new adult and romantasy genres. The imprint has gained attention for publishing Rebecca Yarros’s widely popular Empyrean series and the Assistant to the Villain series by BookTok sensation Hannah Nicole Maehrer. While Penguin Michael Joseph will continue to build its own fantasy catalog, this partnership allows Red Tower to leverage Penguin’s extensive distribution networks, facilitating access to broader international markets.
Louise Moore, managing director of Penguin Michael Joseph, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are proud and delighted to be partnering with Red Tower Books in what is an incredibly exciting new venture for us.” Moore highlighted that collaborating with Red Tower would enhance the scope and ambition of their publishing efforts. Liz Pelletier, publisher at Entangled Publishing, also conveyed her excitement, noting that the partnership with Penguin Random House will amplify the reach of their authors, ensuring their narratives resonate with an even larger audience.
