What you need to know
RedMagic has introduced the RedMagic 10 Air, a gaming smartphone that aims to provide powerful performance in a remarkably slim design. This device is equipped with premium specifications while maintaining a lightweight appeal for mobile gamers.
At the heart of the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, recognized as one of the most advanced options available currently. Complementing this processing power is the innovative RedCore R3 co-processor, which manages background tasks such as audio, haptics, and lighting. This division of labor is intended to optimize gaming performance and prevent overheating, particularly during extended gaming sessions.
Cooling that doesn’t cut corners
One of the standout features of the RedMagic 10 Air is its extensive cooling system, boasting a 9-layer ICE Cooling System that includes liquid metal and a vapor chamber. Such technology is typically reserved for high-performance gaming laptops, indicating RedMagic’s commitment to addressing thermal management effectively. This setup aims to ensure consistent performance throughout prolonged gaming periods.
The device features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, providing an extensive view for gamers. With a 120Hz refresh rate, the visuals are smooth, and the screen achieves brightness levels of up to 1,600 nits, ensuring clear and vibrant visuals in both indoor and outdoor environments. Furthermore, the phone offers an impressive touch response with a 2,000Hz touch sampling rate and 520Hz shoulder triggers, enhancing the precision of in-game actions.
Big battery, fast charge
Concerns about battery life are addressed with the inclusion of a robust 6,000mAh battery, which RedMagic claims can last up to 28 hours under regular use conditions, despite the phone’s slender profile. It is also equipped with fast charging capabilities for quick power-ups, which is essential for uninterrupted gaming.
Beyond just raw performance, the phone incorporates several intelligent features. Notably, AI-powered voice translation facilitates communication among teammates during gaming or while traveling. Additionally, users can enjoy quick editing options on screenshots and photos for social sharing. A customizable button, referred to as the Magic Key, allows for rapid access to frequently used applications or functions.
In terms of design, the RedMagic 10 Air features a matte metal frame and a glass back engineered to minimize fingerprints. Staying true to gaming aesthetics, it sports RGB lighting. An additional programmable button on the side further enhances user interaction.
Currently, the RedMagic 10 Air is available in China at a starting price of 3,499 RMB (approximately $476). It comes in multiple colors, including Twilight Black and Hailstone White, with a Flare Orange variant expected to launch in the future. For international consumers, the device’s global release is scheduled for April 23, 2025.
