Anna Delvey Surprises Fans with Finale Appearance on Dancing With the Stars
In an unexpected twist, Anna Delvey made an appearance during the finale of Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, despite initial reports suggesting she would not. Delvey, famously known from the Netflix series Inventing Anna, danced to the Whitney Houston classic “I Have Nothing.” This performance cleverly referenced her viral statement after being eliminated in Week 2, where she remarked she had learned “nothing” from the competition.
When questioned about the rumors surrounding her absence from the finale, Delvey expressed her surprise. “I don’t know who was spreading those rumors,” she commented in an interview with TV Insider. Her pro dance partner, Ezra Sosa, echoed her sentiments, admitting he was uncertain about her return as well.
Discussing the choice of song for the finale, Sosa credited executive producer Conrad Green and creative director Justin Mabardi for the idea. “That was a brilliant idea,” he said, adding that the campy spin on her earlier comments provided a fresh perspective on her time in the competition. “I think it painted a really good light on the situation,” he concluded.
During the conversation, questions arose about Delvey’s earlier claim of taking away “nothing” from her experience. Did she really find her time on the show unfulfilling? “That’s not what I meant,” she clarified. Reflecting on fellow contestant Tori Spelling’s emotional style, Delvey noted, “I felt disappointed that all the advice I received from people on the show led me nowhere.”
As for Joey Graziadei’s victory, Delvey expressed her support, saying, “Good for him! Go, Joey!” Sosa lightheartedly checked if she knew who Joey was, to which Delvey replied affirmatively, showcasing her engagement with the show despite her early exit.
The viral nature of her “nothing” comment prompted Sosa to humorously suggest it might end up as a tattoo. During their shared moment on stage with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, Hough joked she had “nothing” to add. When asked if there was any tension between her and Hough, Delvey confidently stated, “I love Julianne! People are just taking themselves too seriously. It’s not that deep.”
Looking ahead, Delvey revealed plans for a documentary with a major streaming platform and her ongoing effort to grow her fashion brand. Sosa playfully suggested she should participate in the reality show Traitors, encouraging fans to help make it happen.
In a personal note, Sosa shared that he and Delvey would soon be moving in together in New York City, generating speculation about potential future reality projects. However, they remained tight-lipped about the possibility of working with networks such as Bravo or Hulu.
When asked about what advice she would offer her younger self, Delvey emphasized resilience: “It’s all about bouncing back – no matter how hard you fall. Just keep moving. Try not to break the law.”
