Fans of Taylor Swift have been eagerly anticipating the release of her two final “Taylor’s Version” re-recordings, but growing speculation suggests that her 12th studio album could be released first. The idea has gained traction following some intriguing comments from Swedish producer Jacob Criborn, known for his work as part of the DJ duo Nause.
Confirmation of New Music?
In a recent interview with Universal Music Sweden, Criborn hinted that Swift is actively working on new material. He was discussing his collaboration with composer and multi-instrumentalist Erik Arvinder, who arranged strings and horns for Criborn’s “Canelloni Macaroni” remix. During the conversation, Criborn mentioned that Arvinder said, “Vi ska bara göra klart Taylor Swift’s platta,” which translates to, “We’re just finishing Taylor Swift’s album.”
Should this statement hold true, it suggests that Arvinder may be providing instrumental support for Swift’s upcoming work. Although this marks his first direct involvement with Swift, fans quickly shared the interview across social media, igniting speculation that she is indeed working on what has been colloquially dubbed “TS12” among her supporters.
It remains uncertain whether Criborn was referring to TS12, her upcoming re-recordings of Reputation or Taylor Swift. Given that his information was relayed to him by Arvinder, it is entirely possible he is unsure himself. The situation was further intensified when Universal Music Sweden deleted the original post mentioning the album, intensifying curiosity surrounding the potential release of TS12.
Hints from Taylor Swift
As of now, Swift has not addressed this potential revelation, maintaining her usual approach of keeping project details under wraps until an official announcement is made. Nevertheless, she has a flair for dropping subtle clues that may hint at her future work.
In March, Swift shared an enthusiastic post on her Instagram Story praising her friend Selena Gomez’s new collaborative album with Benny Blanco titled I Said I Loved You First. Notably, she expressed her excitement using precisely twelve “D” letters in “OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD.” Fans also speculated that she may have alluded to TS12 during the 2025 Grammys, where she sported earrings adorned with twelve red gems.
With these developments, it’s becoming increasingly plausible that Swift’s 12th studio album could be on the horizon sooner than many had anticipated.
