Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake Set for Apple Release
Gamers can soon enjoy one of the most acclaimed zombie survival adventures on their iPhones and iPads. Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake is scheduled to arrive on the Apple and Mac App Store on December 10.
However, access to the game will be limited to recent Apple devices. To play, users will need an iPhone 16 model, an iPhone 15 Pro, or an iPad or Mac powered by the M1 chip or newer. Additionally, prospective players will have the opportunity to experience a trial version of the game before committing to a full purchase. Capcom has announced that the game includes features such as “universal purchase” and “cross-progression,” allowing a seamless transition between devices for eligible users.
The remake introduces enhanced controls tailored for touchscreens, as well as for the Mac interface. Both protagonists, Leon and Claire, are equipped with a new “Auto Fire feature,” which allows players to fire their weapons automatically, providing an advantage against the hordes of undead enemies they encounter.
This release marks one of four Resident Evil titles available for Apple platforms. Previously, Capcom brought Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 4 to the App Store, while Resident Evil: Village is also accessible through both the App and Mac App Store. The growing lineup of these iconic horror games on Apple devices reflects Capcom’s commitment to expanding accessibility for its fanbase in the mobile and computer gaming arenas.
