Ongoing Feud: Rick Ross and 50 Cent Clash Over New Developments
Rappers Rick Ross and 50 Cent are embroiled in yet another public dispute, this time sparked by a social media photo. The feud rekindled after Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, who recently transitioned to a halfway house, was seen with Ross, raising eyebrows and tensions.
Big Meech, an iconic figure behind the Black Mafia Family, has recently been a subject of interest for celebrities, including 50 Cent. The Queens rapper is known for producing the Starz series BMF, which chronicles the lives of Big Meech and his brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory. It also features Meech’s son, Demetrius Flenory Jr. 50 Cent appeared to take offense at the sight of Meech mingling with Ross, subsequently sharing and deleting a post on Instagram that expressed his feelings on the matter. However, he did share a recap of the incident from the user @sirlancwoods.
In a counter-move, Ross announced plans to create a feature film centered on Detroit’s infamous Black Mafia Family. “I wanna do a BMF film because you’ve been entertained by a lackluster, small-budget series,” he stated, directly addressing the production quality of 50’s show. Ross is keen on collaborating with high-profile directors, mentioning notable names like F. Gary Gray and Antoine Fuqua, hinting at a grander vision for the portrayal of the Flenory family’s narrative.
Ross has previously gained recognition for his hit single “B.M.F.” featuring Styles P, which reached No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 and maintained a spot on the chart for 16 weeks, contributing to his reputation in the industry.
As for Big Meech, he has yet to provide any public response to 50 Cent’s recent provocations. Meanwhile, his son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., attempted to mediate the situation, but his efforts appeared futile. In a back-and-forth exchange shared online, Flenory Jr. noted that 50 had unfollowed him on social media and mentioned how Ross had been supportive of his father financially in the lead-up to the fourth season of BMF. The interaction took a turn when 50 quipped, “What next season,” questioning the show’s continuation.
The future of this rivalry, as well as the status of BMF, remains uncertain, leaving fans to speculate whether 50 Cent’s comments were genuine concerns or merely playful trolling.
