Riddhima Defends Brother Ranbir and Sister-in-law Alia Against Online Criticism

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the sister of renowned Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, recently addressed the public scrutiny faced by the popular couple, Ranbir and Alia Bhatt. As one of the industry’s most talked-about pairs, they are often subjected to intense media attention and public commentary, leading to both support and criticism.

In a candid interview, Riddhima spoke about the couple’s strong bond and their approach to handling external judgments. She emphasized that despite facing labels such as ‘misogynist’ directed at Ranbir, both he and Alia remain unaffected by the negativity surrounding their relationship. “They adore each other. They’ve created the most beautiful child, Raha, who is incredibly adorable. They are amazing parents. So, I don’t think they really care about what people say,” she stated.

Riddhima also praised Alia, referring to her as a “great girl” and commending her warm nature. She described Alia’s interactions with her family as kind and genuine. “Alia is actually a very warm and giving person. I’ve always said she’s a really nice human. Whenever she does something, she does it with her whole heart,” Riddhima noted, mentioning the kindness that runs in Alia’s family as well.

Amidst her family’s rising fame, Riddhima has faced her own share of criticism following her debut on the reality series “Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.” She shared that while online trolling does not bother her personally, she becomes defensive when it comes to her family’s reputation. “I’m a very simple girl. I love being at home with my family. I rarely go out; I barely socialise…and I don’t really care about trolls. They exist for a reason, but why highlight them and give them importance?” she explained.

Riddhima offered a broader perspective on negativity, pointing out that people will always express opinions, whether positive or negative. “Like I said, logon ka kaam hai bolna, woh toh bolege [people are bound to say something; let them]. Why let negativity get to you? Focus on the positives,” she advised. She concluded with a firm stance, stating, “I really don’t care. You can say whatever you like about me. It makes no difference. But don’t say things about my family. That’s when actually the horns come out.”
