The dynamic of parenthood transcends celebrity status. Even the most renowned figures, like Rihanna, experience moments when their children show little interest in their antics. Recently, the pop superstar shared a humorous parenting tip that many can relate to as she seeks the undivided attention of her two young sons, RZA, aged 2, and Riot Rose, who is 20 months old, with partner A$AP Rocky.
In an Instagram Story posted on April 27, Rihanna showcased a playful video featuring her face animated over a banana filter, accompanied by the caption, “Since my kids love bananas so much but wanna ignore me.” To emphasize her playful frustration, she layered H.E.R.’s 2016 track “Focus” as the soundtrack to the clip.
Despite her sons’ apparent lack of interest, A$AP Rocky recently revealed in a cover story for Vogue that his grandmother is fully supportive of Rihanna. He described how Grandma Cathy has always believed in his potential while expressing pride over his relationship with the renowned artist. “She loves her some RiRi,” Rocky commented, praising Rihanna’s down-to-earth nature. “I’m glad that he settled down, and I’m happy with who he settled down with,” Cathy expressed, showing her approval of their partnership.
While Rihanna navigates the challenges of keeping her toddlers engaged, Rocky shared insights into their individual personalities. He mentioned that RZA tends to be more reserved and enjoys reading, whereas little Riot thrives on attention and playfully engages with his older brother. “He likes to take stuff from his brother so his brother can chase him,” he noted. Rocky is preparing to co-chair the upcoming Met Gala alongside other notable figures like Pharrell Williams, actor Colman Domingo, and Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton on May 5.
