Fenty Beauty Collaborates with Netflix’s “Arcane” for Exclusive Collection

Rihanna’s brand Fenty Beauty is set to launch a new collection in partnership with Netflix’s acclaimed animated series, “Arcane.” Titled “Fenty Beauty x Arcane: The Legends Vault,” this collaboration is scheduled for release on November 2, just ahead of the much-anticipated second season of the show, which premieres on November 9. The collection is priced at $250.

This collaboration comes at a time when “Arcane,” based on the popular game “League of Legends” from Riot Games, is ready to reignite fan interest with its upcoming season. Fenty Beauty’s announcement emphasizes the convergence of glamour and animation, aiming to celebrate both the artistry of makeup and the vibrant characters from the series. The Legends Vault features beloved characters such as Jinx, Vi, Mel, and Caitlyn.

The new collection boasts five limited-edition shades of Fenty’s renowned “Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer,” showcasing colors like “Kaboom,” “Rebel Rais’r,” “Risky Rulin’,” “Rogue On Riche$,” and “Morphic Melt,” ranging from a shimmering gold to a striking hot fuchsia. Additionally, the line includes products like a cobalt blue mascara, a golden highlighter, and a liquid eyeliner in gold.

Priscilla Ono, a makeup artist affiliated with Fenty Beauty, spoke about the collaboration in a promotional video, expressing her admiration for the storytelling and strong female characters in “Arcane.” She highlighted the creative process of capturing the essence of the characters through makeup design. In the same video, Ono and Kiahna Manker, Riot Games’ creative producer, discussed the integration of Fenty’s design aesthetics into the season’s artwork, particularly focusing on Vi’s distinctive makeup look.

The Legends Vault, which retails for $250, is soon to be available via Fenty Beauty’s channels. This venture is not Rihanna’s first engagement with the gaming community; she previously collaborated with Roblox earlier this year, allowing players to create their own “Gloss Bomb” lip gloss. In June, she released a limited-edition physical product, “Major Flex,” further bridging the gap between cosmetics and gaming culture.

Netflix also continues to explore partnerships with various beauty brands, as exemplified by its previous collaboration with Lush for the popular series “Bridgerton.” Since its debut in 2021, “Arcane” has garnered substantial streaming success, ranking as Netflix’s top English-language series during its release week, with an impressive 38.4 million hours viewed.

What to Expect from “Arcane” Season Two

The second season is set to premiere in three parts, with episodes releasing on November 9, 16, and 23. “Arcane” is part of a larger trend within Netflix, as the platform strives to produce compelling content connected to the gaming landscape, including the live-action adaptation of “Resident Evil” released in 2022 and animated shows such as the recent hit “Blue Eye Samurai.”

Gaming’s popularity is surging both behind the scenes and in the spotlight, as evidenced by the ongoing “League of Legends” 2024 World Championship. Preliminary matches have attracted large audiences, culminating in significant events held in sold-out arenas across Europe. Recently, the acclaimed Korean esports team T1 faced off against Gen.G in Paris’s Adidas Arena, with T1 emerging victorious.

Looking ahead, T1 is set to compete against China’s BiliBili Gaming in the finals at London’s O2 Arena. Meanwhile, the realm of animated series remains vibrant, with projects like “The Legend of Vox Machina” from Critical Role, which has just premiered its third season and received the green light for a fourth season from Amazon, showcasing the growing intersection of gaming and entertainment.

As of now, representatives from Netflix, Riot Games, and Fenty Beauty have not responded to inquiries for additional comments.
