Ringo Starr’s Final North American Tour Shows Canceled Due to Illness
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have canceled the final two performances of their North American tour after the legendary musician developed a cold. The announcement was made on social media, stating that the shows scheduled for Tuesday at TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia and Wednesday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City would not go ahead due to Starr’s health issues.
The statement detailed that after consulting a physician, Starr was advised to prioritize rest, leading to the decision to cancel the remaining performances. Ticket holders will be refunded automatically or can reach out to their purchase points for reimbursement.
RINGO STARR REFLECTS ON BEATLES’ RISE TO FAME
“As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon,” the announcement shared, expressing gratitude for the support of their audience. Many fans took to social media to convey their well-wishes. One commenter expressed concern for Starr’s health, emphasizing that while they were disappointed about the cancellation, their primary hope was for him to recover. “Get well soon, Ringo!” they wrote.
Starr recently shared that he was feeling “fit as a fiddle” around his birthday in July and even noted his commitment to working out nearly every day at the age of 84. He remains one of the last two surviving members of the iconic Beatles, alongside Paul McCartney, who is 82. The band faced tremendous loss when John Lennon was killed in 1980 and George Harrison succumbed to cancer in 2001.
Before the cancellations, the band had completed a performance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut only days prior. The tour, which began on September 7 in Omaha, Nebraska, was intended to wrap up with the New York shows.
In addition to the tour, Starr also released a new EP titled “Crooked Boy” in April, which showcases his enduring creativity and passion for music. The band expressed their appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by audiences at previous concerts, describing the atmosphere as one of togetherness and joy.
Despite the frustration of canceling the remaining shows, Ringo Starr’s legacy and influence continue to resonate with fans around the world, and supporters are optimistic for his swift recovery.
