The much-anticipated revival of the iconic film “Nosferatu” is set to debut in theaters on December 25, 2023. Directed and written by Robert Eggers, this adaptation offers a fresh take on the classic horror narrative originally crafted by F.W. Murnau.

Meanwhile, Dafoe takes on the role of Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, a character reminiscent of Van Helsing. Nicholas Hoult rounds out the cast as Depp’s beleaguered love interest.
Eggers has long championed this project, with plans dating back to 2015. In its early stages, Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles were attached to the lead roles. However, by 2022, Depp had taken over Taylor-Joy’s role, while Hoult replaced Styles. The departure of Styles raised questions about the project’s viability, but production swiftly moved forward.
From the striking cinematography of Jarin Blaschke—an Oscar nominee for “The Lighthouse”—to the palpable sense of dread infused in the visuals, it appears that Eggers has meticulously crafted a haunting atmosphere that captivates viewers from the start.
