Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 Set for July Launch
Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7, in early July. As anticipation builds, various leaks are surfacing, providing insights into the features and specifications of these new devices. However, details remain fluid, and updates continue to emerge. Here’s the latest from TechManiacs.
Design Innovations with Thinner Profiles
One of the most notable changes for the Galaxy Z Fold7 is its expected reduction in thickness. While previous sources indicated that the device would measure 9.5mm when folded, new information suggests it could be even slimmer at just 8.2mm. This significant design enhancement, if accurate, would position Samsung ahead of competitors like the Oppo Find N5, which measures 8.9mm when folded.
However, this ambitious target raises questions about the feasibility of such advancements, considering the current flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, has a thickness of 10.6mm.
Camera and Display Enhancements
In terms of camera capabilities, the Z Fold7 is set to feature a primary 200MP sensor, consistent with the Special Edition. However, the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses will reportedly remain unchanged, continuing to utilize the 3x 10MP and 12MP configurations, respectively.
The smartphone’s display dimensions are also seeing upgrades. The inner display is anticipated to expand to 8 inches from the previous 7.6 inches on the Z Fold6, while the cover display will increase from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches, aligning with the Special Edition’s specifications.
Improvements in the Galaxy Z Flip7
The Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to introduce a larger cover display, transitioning from its 3.4-inch design to an almost rectangular 4-inch panel. While it’s reported that the Z Flip7 will follow suit with a thinner design than its predecessor, specific measurements are yet to be confirmed.
Additionally, the device will house a bigger battery, increasing from 4,000mAh to 4,300mAh. However, it’s important to note that charging speeds are expected to remain unchanged. In terms of the camera system, Samsung appears to be maintaining continuity by reusing the 50MP main and 12MP ultra-wide setup from the Z Flip6, rather than introducing a new 200MP lens.
Performance and Pricing Considerations
Both foldable smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, while a variant of the Z Flip7 may utilize the Exynos 2400e processor.
On the pricing front, there are some cause for concern; the Galaxy Z Fold7 is likely to see a price increase of €100 over its predecessor, which launched at €2,000. While the pricing details for the Z Flip7 remain unconfirmed, the lack of negative news could signal stability in its pricing strategy.
