Jiggly Caliente, known for her memorable stint on season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has sadly passed away at the age of 44.
The performer, born Bianca Castro, died on April 27, after complications arose from a leg amputation necessitated by a severe infection. Her family confirmed the news through a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente,” the statement read. “Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.”
Forever remembered for her vibrant personality and passion, Jiggly Caliente was admired for her infectious charm, sharp humor, and steadfast authenticity. She was a source of inspiration for many, leaving an indelible mark through her artistry and activism that resonated with a global audience.
Her family expressed, “Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light. Although she may no longer be physically present, the joy she brought and the community she nurtured will endure. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered.”
This tragic announcement follows a previous update shared by her family on April 24, which disclosed that Caliente had encountered a significant health issue that resulted in her leg amputation.
At that time, they announced that due to her recovery process, she would be unable to participate in the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines or engage in public appearances.
“At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Bianca and her family as they navigate this difficult journey together,” read the earlier note. “As Jiggly focuses on her healing, we invite her friends, fans, and the community to uplift her with messages of hope and love on her social media channels. Bianca’s family and drag house are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support and prayers during this challenging time.”
Caliente first captured the limelight on RuPaul’s Drag Race season four, where she secured eighth place. She made a return in All Stars season six and took on a role as a recurring judge on Drag Race Philippines in 2022.
Additionally, she portrayed Veronica Ferocity in FX’s acclaimed series Pose, contributing to the show across its three-season duration.
