Jiggly Caliente, a beloved figure known for her participation in “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2011, has passed away at the age of 44. Her family announced her sudden death following a significant health crisis that led to the amputation of her leg.

On Sunday, Caliente’s family, whose real name was Bianca Castro-Arabejo, shared the news through an Instagram post. They expressed their deep sorrow: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente. Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.”

Caliente was known not only for her talent on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” but also for her vibrant personality and dedication to advocacy. Her family emphasized this in their statement, noting, “A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world.”

[Her] legacy is one of love, courage, and light,” they concluded. “Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered.”

Just prior to her death, her family disclosed that Caliente had suffered a life-altering health setback due to a severe infection, which necessitated the amputation of “most of her right leg.” The family had revealed on social media that due to these circumstances, she would be unable to appear in the upcoming season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines” and would not be participating in public engagements for the foreseeable future.

Caliente first gained fame on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” during its fourth season. From 2022, she served as a judge on “Drag Race Philippines” for three consecutive seasons. Additionally, she made guest appearances in various television series, including FX’s “Pose,” “Search Party,” and “Saturday Night Live.”
