Saba Azad Shines as a Crime Journalist in Upcoming Series Crime Beat

Saba Azad discusses her experiences with fame, her private lifestyle, and her character in Crime Beat.

Saba Azad, renowned for her dual career as a musician and actress, is making headlines once again. This time, she captures attention for her role as a crime journalist in the highly anticipated Hindi web series, Crime Beat. In an insightful dialogue with Hesha Chimah and Varinder Chawla, Saba reflected on her growing public visibility and her nuanced relationship with the media.

In her remarks, Saba candidly expressed, “I’m a private person, and I feel socially awkward at times.” She emphasized that while media attention can be overwhelming, it is often a choice to engage with it. “You can exist without seeking that kind of attention. As Saqib mentioned, some people thrive on it, but for me, it comes and goes—it’s tied to certain events like my show.”

Saba elaborated during her conversation with Money Control about the dichotomy between her personal life and her public persona. “I’m genuinely a reserved individual, which contrasts sharply with my passion for performing. In social situations, you’d likely find me off to the side at gatherings.” Despite the challenges of being frequently in the spotlight, she maintains a pragmatic perspective on the nature of media attention. “While I can’t say that it’s enjoyable all the time, I do recognize the importance of the photographer’s role in their lives. After all, they’re just doing their job to support their families.”

Interestingly, Saba highlighted that her experiences with paparazzi have been largely positive. “I wouldn’t describe my encounters with the paparazzi as harassment. It happens infrequently, only during events, and I’ve been treated courteously. They are simply pursuing their profession, and I communicate my boundaries respectfully when needed. We should all aim to coexist without causing a fuss.”

Her newest series, Crime Beat, immerses viewers in the gripping realm of investigative journalism. Partnering with Saqib Saleem, Saba portrays Abhishek, a budding crime reporter whose quest for a significant story leads him into a perilous confrontation with a fugitive gangster. The series promises to explore the complexities of morality and the potential hazards one faces while seeking the truth.
