Sabrina Carpenter and Dolly Parton’s Duet Shines in ‘Please Please Please’ Music Video
Sabrina Carpenter continues to make waves in the music industry with the release of her deluxe album, Short ‘n Sweet, on Valentine’s Day. This new version marks a significant moment in her career, especially following her recent success at the Grammy Awards, where she received accolades for her latest studio album and its standout single, “Espresso.” The highlight of this release is undoubtedly her collaboration with the iconic Dolly Parton on the track “Please Please Please,” which has been celebrated by fans and critics alike.
The music video for “Please Please Please,” shared by Carpenter on Instagram, showcases the duo in a stunning homage to Old Hollywood. As they drive a vintage pickup truck, the two are dressed in stylish, retro outfits that perfectly complement the nostalgic vibe of the song. Carpenter took to social media to express her admiration for Parton, stating, “Dolly and me singing in a pickup truck!!!!!! I am so honoured to have one of my biggest idols on a song that means so much to me… Love you forever Dolly Parton.”
Parton also shared her excitement in a separate Instagram video, where she and Carpenter can be seen enjoying each other’s company while performing the song. Her caption humorously noted, “Turns out, two things can be short and sweet,” referencing both the song and Carpenter’s latest album.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, producer Jack Antonoff discussed the unique qualities of “Please Please Please,” mentioning that it carries a “Dolly feeling” alongside influences from other iconic artists like Olivia Newton-John. He remarked on the distinct vocal stylings in the song, describing them as a blend of classic country with a modern twist that demonstrates Carpenter’s versatility as an artist.
In addition to the collaboration with Parton, the deluxe album introduces four new tracks: “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Bad Reviews,” and “Busy Woman,” all of which have been embraced by her dedicated fanbase.
Having just completed the North American leg of her Short ‘n Sweet tour, Carpenter is set to perform two concerts in Dublin, Ireland, on March 3 and 4, further showcasing her growing presence in the global music landscape.
