Saif Ali Khan recently reflected on his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s residence in New Delhi. Earlier this week, Saif was part of a gathering that included Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and other prominent members of the Kapoor family. The purpose of their visit was to formally invite PM Modi to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, celebrating the centenary of the iconic filmmaker’s birth.
In a video clip shared by the Prime Minister, it was evident that Modi was keen to meet Saif and Kareena’s children, Taimur and Jeh. During a recent interview, Saif disclosed that Modi inquired about the boys and expressed a desire to meet them. Additionally, Kareena took the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister for an autograph for their sons as a keepsake.
“He inquired about my parents and mentioned that he expected us to bring Taimur and Jeh along for the meeting! He also kindly signed a paper for them, as per Kareena’s request. It was clear that he is committed to his duties while still making an effort to connect on a personal level,” Saif shared with Hindustan Times.
Saif further noted his curiosity about the Prime Minister’s intense schedule, asking how much rest he gets. Modi’s response? Approximately three hours of sleep per night. “We expressed our gratitude for his time and the respect he extended to our family,” added Saif.
The Kapoor family is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Raj Kapoor through the upcoming film festival, which will showcase ten of his most beloved films. This lineup includes classic works that span nearly four decades, featuring titles such as Aag (1948), Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), and Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985), among others.
In a show of unity and respect for Raj Kapoor’s contributions to cinema, the family gathered for a special screening of one of his films on the eve of his 100th birthday. They took a moment for photographs before entering the theater, underlining their commitment to celebrating his enduring influence on Indian film.
