Following its introduction in Korea, Samsung is expanding the April 2025 security update to Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra users in Australia.
This significant update, which first became available in South Korea just last week, is designed to bolster security for the devices, as it updates the security status to April 2025. While official descriptions highlight improvements in overall system stability, some enhancements beyond security updates are also included.
A fresh charging animation
According to Tarun Vats on X, the new update introduces several features inspired by One UI 7 to Samsung’s flagship devices. A highlight of this update is the newly designed charging animation, which was previously available only to Beta testers of One UI 7 (as noted by SamMobile). This revamped animation adds a stylish animated glow to the battery icon at the top right of the screen, featuring a fresh green backdrop, enhancing its visual appeal compared to the original launch design.

As seen in previous software iterations, the media widget continues to reside within the Quick Settings menu. Both of these enhancements are already part of the stable One UI 7 version that is available for the Galaxy S24 series.
Samsung shuffled priorities
Following the rollout of the Android 15 update for Galaxy S24 devices, Samsung has now shifted its focus to the S25 series to implement the security patch for April.
To identify the latest update for the Galaxy S25, users should look for a build number ending in AYD9. Installation can be completed by navigating to Settings, selecting Software update, and then clicking on Download and install.
