Samsung Accelerates One UI 7 Rollout for Galaxy Devices
In recent efforts to enhance its software delivery, Samsung has been expediting the rollout of the One UI 7 update across its Galaxy device lineup. Initially, the company had planned a cautious release strategy, distributing the update in waves over three months. However, Samsung has since revised this timeline, allowing users to experience the new features much sooner than anticipated.
Currently, the One UI 7 update is being introduced to the Galaxy S22 series, starting in South Korea before expanding to other regions in the near future. The update, which is approximately 4.5 GB in size, requires adequate storage space, so users should prepare their devices accordingly.
The update includes the latest April security patch along with a host of AI-enhanced features that Samsung has prominently featured since the announcement of One UI 7. Notably, this version is based on Android 15, and the Galaxy S22 series is slated to receive one additional major update—Android 16—expected to be released next year around the same time.
For those who do not own a Galaxy S22 or another device that has received the update, here is a breakdown of the One UI 7 rollout schedule:
One UI 7 Release Schedule
- April: Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, S24 FE, and Galaxy Tab S10 lineup
- May: Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Z Flip 3, Galaxy S23 FE, S22 series, S21 series, Galaxy A34, A35, A16, Quantum 5 and 4, Galaxy Tab S8 and S9 series
- June: Galaxy A53, A33, A25, A24, A15, Tab A9/A0+, Tab Active 5, and Tab S9 FE
Recent trends suggest that many remaining Galaxy models may receive the One UI 7 upgrade ahead of schedule, similar to the expedited rollout experienced by the Galaxy S22 series and other devices. As Samsung continues to focus on improving the user experience, consumers can expect more timely updates in the future.
