What you need to know

A recent listing by the FCC indicates that the Samsung Galaxy A56 will support 45W fast charging. Additionally, a certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) points to an upcoming global launch for the device. Recent leaks have detailed that the phone will feature One UI 7, based on Android 15, right out of the box, and it appears poised for a release in March, mirroring the launch timeline of its predecessor, the Galaxy A55.

Samsung’s anticipated mid-range smartphone is drawing closer to its debut. The Bluetooth SIG recently certified a device identified by the model number “SM-A566B_DS,” which corresponds to the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G. This certification suggests that the phone’s launch may happen within the first quarter of the year, similar to the timing observed with the Galaxy A55 last March.

Although detailed specifications for the Galaxy A56 are still largely under wraps, GSMArena has provided a comprehensive unofficial spec sheet sourced from an FCC document. This leak suggests the device will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, slightly larger than that of its predecessor, offering a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ capabilities with peak brightness reaching 1000 nits. The display is expected to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus for protection and an always-on display functionality.

Last November, well-known tipster @Onleaks shared renders of the expected phone, showcasing a design that closely resembles its predecessor, characterized by flat edges and gently rounded corners.

According to GSMArena’s information, the Galaxy A56 will likely maintain the same camera specifications as the previous model, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro camera, arranged vertically. A 12MP front-facing camera is also anticipated. These cameras are set to support 4K video recording at 30fps as well as 1080p recording at both 30 and 60fps.

Recent developments have particularly highlighted the device’s charging speed. The FCC documentation supports earlier rumors that the Galaxy A56 will offer 45W wired fast charging, similar to the capabilities of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and notably an improvement over the standard S25 model. Furthermore, it is expected that the phone will integrate the new Exynos 1580 chipset alongside a robust 5,000mAh battery.

Informal leaks hint that the Galaxy A56 will launch with One UI 7, built on the Android 15 platform, enhancing its functionality with more advanced Galaxy AI features. Additionally, it is likely to be available in a variety of colors, including Black, and offer configurations of 8GB or 12GB of RAM with up to 256GB of storage.

While these details are promising, they remain speculative until Samsung officially announces the specifications. Nonetheless, the anticipation around the Galaxy A56 suggests that its formal introduction may be just around the corner.
