Samsung is in the process of developing its latest smartphone, the Galaxy M36, which has recently appeared in the Geekbench online database with a prototype version undergoing benchmarking. This discovery gives us preliminary insights into several specifications, including the System on Chip (SoC), RAM configuration, and the Android version it will ship with.

This Galaxy M36 prototype is identified by the model number SM-M366B, indicating that it is intended for the global market. It is equipped with the Exynos 1380 SoC and features 6GB of RAM. Additionally, the device is set to launch with Android 15, layered with Samsung’s One UI 7 interface.

At this point, specific details about the M36’s other features remain under wraps. Last year’s Galaxy M35 shared many similarities with the Galaxy A35; however, the M35 stood out with its larger 6,000 mAh battery and a convenient side-mounted fingerprint sensor. This year, a similar pattern might emerge. Notably, the available Galaxy A36 is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, suggesting a key difference between the two models.

If the M36 parallels last year’s M35 in design and functionality, it is likely to offer a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2340, a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching 1,900 nits. The device could support up to 12GB of RAM and come with options for 128GB or 256GB of storage. In terms of photography, it may feature a primary 50 MP camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 5 MP macro shooter, and a 12 MP front-facing camera for selfies.
