Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip FE: What We Know So Far
Samsung continues to solidify its position as a leader in the foldable smartphone market, consistently releasing new versions of its popular Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip lines. This year, the tech giant appears set to broaden its horizons with a lineup that includes not only the anticipated Fold 7 and Flip 7 but also an innovative triple-screen foldable and a more budget-friendly offering—the Galaxy Z Flip FE. Speculation around the features of the Flip FE has been rampant, and recent CAD renders have shed light on what consumers might expect.
A recent series of CAD renders of the Galaxy Z Flip FE, potentially known as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, surfaced thanks to OnLeaks and SammyGuru. It is important to note that these renders are based on precise measurements typically used by accessory manufacturers, rather than official images from Samsung. These detailed dimensions are instrumental for creating a 3D model, offering a glimpse into the phone’s design and features.
While some aspects of the render may be speculative, they provide a close approximation of the Z Flip FE’s exterior. One notable detail is that the Z Flip FE seems to forego the enhanced cover screen found in the Z Flip 7 model. Instead, its design is likely to align more closely with the existing Z Flip 6, maintaining a similar aesthetic. The anticipated dimensions of 165.1 x 71.7 x 7.4 mm indicate that the new model will be only slightly thicker than its predecessor.
Despite the intriguing visuals, the renders do not deliver extensive information about the internal components of the Z Flip FE. The presence of the Exynos 2400e chip has been hinted at, although no new evidence has been introduced to confirm this chipset’s inclusion. Furthermore, the expectation that the camera system will mirror that of the Z Flip 6 persists, yet remains unverified.
As consumers await a more detailed reveal, the key question arises: would potential buyers be interested in what appears to be a revamped version of the Z Flip 6, or will the new features touted for the Z Flip 7 prove more appealing? The answer may come down to pricing and personal preferences regarding technology.
