Samsung Showcases AI Innovations at CES 2025

Today marks the beginning of CES 2025, with Samsung’s First Look event highlighting advancements in display technology. The company introduced a range of new products, including cutting-edge televisions, a novel projector, and a unique beauty mirror. Central to these innovations is the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI), which plays a pivotal role in enhancing user experience.

Samsung presented its new initiative dubbed “Samsung Vision AI,” which aims to revolutionize how displays function by making them more intelligent and responsive to their environments. This technology empowers screens to learn and adapt to individual user preferences, promising to enhance everyday interactions with display devices.

One of the standout features of Samsung Vision AI is Live Translate, an on-device AI capability that enables real-time translation of subtitles. This is particularly beneficial in a world where language barriers can hinder access to content. Live Translate is poised to offer seamless viewing experiences by supporting users with on-the-fly translations.

Another intriguing feature is Click to Search, which identifies content displayed on the screen and provides additional information. For instance, if an actor appears during a show, viewers can simply click to find out more about them, similar to Amazon’s X-Ray feature, but with an AI twist that does not require pre-prepared data.

The integration of Samsung Vision AI with the SmartThings ecosystem expands its functionality further. Through Home Insights, users can receive updates and notifications regarding their homes, while the Pet and Family Care feature can automate adjustments in the environment, like dimming lights when a child falls asleep while watching TV.

For those craving even more intelligence, Samsung has joined forces with Microsoft to bring Copilot to its Smart TVs and Smart Monitors. Collaborations with Google and other AI innovators are also in the pipeline, which indicates a significant commitment to enriching the smart home experience.

Regarding hardware, the Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN990F impresses with its large 85-inch screen boasting 8K resolution. Even without native 8K content, viewers can enjoy upscaled visuals thanks to the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor. This processor enhances lower-resolution media and includes features like Auto HDR Remastering Pro and Color Booster Pro, while Adaptive Sound Pro utilizes AI to differentiate sound elements for a richer audio experience.

Additionally, Samsung introduced The Frame Pro, an upgraded version of its popular frame television. This model sports a Neo QLED panel with enhanced local dimming technology designed to deliver bolder blacks, paired with the advanced NQ4 Gen3 AI processor. In a noteworthy partnership, Samsung has aligned with Art Basel, designating The Frame as the official display for the prestigious international art event.

Shifting away from traditional screens, Samsung revealed The Premiere 5, a triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector that features touch capabilities, facilitating the display of interactive content. This innovation marks a significant step in projector technology.

Addressing personal care, the Micro LED Beauty Mirror offers “personalized beauty insights” by evaluating users’ skin types. Developed in collaboration with Amorepacific, a leading cosmetics firm in Korea, this tech encapsulates the growing trend of merging technology with beauty and health.
