Samsung has officially unveiled its latest additions to the Galaxy M series in India, namely the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G. Both smartphones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipsets and are equipped with robust 5,000mAh batteries that promise long usage times. The Galaxy M16 5G distinguishes itself with a comprehensive triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary lens, while the M06 5G features a dual rear camera system also centering around a 50-megapixel sensor. Notably, the Galaxy M16 5G is set to offer six years of Android updates, a significant commitment from Samsung in terms of software support.

The pricing for the Galaxy M16 5G starts at Rs. 11,499 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The device is also available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, priced at Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 14,499, respectively. These introductory prices include a promotional bank discount of Rs. 1,000. Customers can choose from three color options: Blush Pink, Mint Green, and Thunder Black, with the phone expected to go on sale starting March 5.

Conversely, the Galaxy M06 5G is offered at Rs. 9,499 for the 4GB + 128GB variant and Rs. 10,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, which also includes a Rs. 500 discount through bank offers. This model is available in Blazing Black and Sage Green. Its sales will commence on March 7.

The Galaxy M16 5G stands out with its promise of six Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates, while the Galaxy M06 5G offers four years of Android upgrades. Both smartphones feature a generous 6.7-inch display, with the M16 5G showcasing a full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Super AMOLED screen. In contrast, the M06 5G has an HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) display.

Internally, both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, available with RAM options reaching up to 8GB and storage capacity peaking at 128GB.

The camera systems on these devices reflect their intended user experience; the Galaxy M16 5G has a triple camera array that includes a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens, plus a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy M06 5G, meanwhile, incorporates a simpler dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, supported by an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

For user convenience, both smartphones include side-mounted fingerprint scanners and are equipped with Samsung’s Knox Vault feature for enhanced security, along with Quick Share functionality for easy file transfers. The Galaxy M16 5G additionally benefits from Samsung Wallet, offering Tap and Pay capabilities.

Both devices share the same robust battery life, featuring 5,000mAh batteries capable of fast charging at 25W. In terms of design, the Galaxy M16 5G measures a sleek 7.9mm in thickness, while the Galaxy M06 5G is slightly thicker at 8mm.
