Samsung is reportedly in the process of launching its Good Lock app across the globe. Recently, users in Romania discovered they can now download the app on their Galaxy devices, utilizing its rich array of customization and personalization options. Although Good Lock has been available for several years, its reach was previously confined to around 40 countries. Following various leaks, Samsung publicly declared in January its intention to make the app globally accessible, and it appears that the rollout is now underway.

Samsung Good Lock App Global Rollout

According to SamMobile, the Good Lock app is now downloadable in Romania, expanding its availability beyond previous restrictions. It has been noted that users can find the app in both the Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store, but currently, it seems to be available only in the former.

The Samsung Good Lock app serves as a customization suite tailored for Galaxy smartphones, offering users the ability to alter various modules and introduce functionalities that are not included in the standard feature set. The app encompasses a total of 23 functionalities, including the ability to design new styles for the lock screen and always-on display, reorganize navigation bar options and swipe gestures, and create dynamic backgrounds that move in sync with the device’s motion. Compatibility extends to Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy S series devices.

Prior indications suggested that the Good Lock app would gain traction in conjunction with the rollout of the stable One UI 7 update. Currently, the app’s launch appears to coincide with the broadened availability of One UI 7 across more devices and regions. However, it should be noted that this global rollout is not exclusive to devices operating on Android 15, as the complete rollout is still pending.

The app was first launched alongside the Galaxy S25 series, with One UI 7 subsequently being extended to the Galaxy S24 models in South Korea. The rollout then progressed to the EU and other regions but faced interruptions due to the identification of a significant bug that resulted in users being locked out of their devices.
