Samsung is advancing its integration of artificial intelligence with the announcement that users of the Galaxy A series smartphones will soon have the ability to access Google’s Gemini AI assistant by pressing and holding the power button.
This new feature will be available for the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A26 models. Previously seen in the flagship Galaxy S series, this option will be introduced through a software update expected to start rolling out to these A series devices in early May, coinciding with the release of the May security patches.
Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Office for Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics, commented on this development, stating:
Samsung and Google have partnered to create seamless and intuitive AI experiences, enhancing accessibility for users. We are thrilled that Galaxy A series users can now activate Gemini more quickly and naturally with a simple gesture, allowing for intelligent assistance in their daily activities.
