Sanjeeda Shaikh expresses the timeless nature of love, addressing infidelity in today’s relationships.
Sanjeeda Shaikh recently appeared in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Known for her composed demeanor, she has largely chosen not to engage with the speculation surrounding her personal life, particularly following her separation and divorce from Aamir Ali in 2020. Despite facing significant scrutiny and online trolling, she remains unfazed, asserting that media attention on her private affairs does not faze her. In a candid interview with News18 Showsha, she revealed that her past experiences have not soured her belief in love.
“I firmly believe that love is still attainable in today’s world,” Shahid stated. “Love is a beautiful emotion. The key is to find someone who brings peace to your life, someone with whom you can find solace. It’s a wonderful feeling, and I wish for everyone to experience it.” However, she also emphasized that infidelity has long existed, predating the rise of dating apps and social media.
“Disregarding platforms like Instagram and numerous dating applications, those inclined to cheat will do so regardless of the options available. Cheating was prevalent even in times when people had fewer choices at their disposal,” she commented. Reflecting on her own personality, she described her tendency to be straightforward as a potential ‘red flag’ in relationships. “At times, I can be too blunt, which can be off-putting to some. Nevertheless, I’m learning and feel I’ve improved with time,” she said with a chuckle.
Previously, Sanjeeda mentioned experiencing loneliness when some friends distanced themselves during her divorce. Nevertheless, she now focuses on the positive outcomes of that challenging period. “It’s essential to experience a range of emotions—loneliness, joy, frustration, and rejection—as life comprises both highs and lows,” she reflected.
She further elaborated, “Good times teach us to appreciate the moment, while the tough times prepare us to recover resiliently. As an actor, I can share my personal journey dealing with loneliness. Many individuals face daily struggles yet choose to embrace happiness. I’ve often likened challenges to a washing machine; they may twist and churn you, but ultimately, you emerge cleaner and brighter. I came across this idea somewhere, and I find it quite insightful,” she added with a laugh.
Not one to linger on the difficulties of her past, she noted, “Everyone faces challenges in life. I’m not fond of those who perpetually complain about their circumstances. We are fortunate to experience life—it’s truly a blessing. I am proud of the choices I’ve made, as they have shaped who I am. I believe in defining my own identity rather than relying on others to do so.”
