Sara Ali Khan shares insights on managing social media trolls.

The talented actress and daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan, has become a prominent figure in Bollywood, often subject to scrutiny regarding her acting prowess on social media platforms. In a recent conversation at the Times Now Summit, she openly discussed her experiences with online trolling and the coping mechanisms she has developed over time.

In her talk, Sara revealed that she has learned to cultivate a thicker skin, which has significantly diminished the impact of negative comments on her. She remarked, “It’s become a lot less because I have started filtering out as much as I can. What helps me a lot is meditation—it allows me to see what’s real and what’s not. I have started looking at my own thoughts like clouds. I don’t even attach myself to every thought. The issue was never about trolling; it was about the emotional weight of wondering, ‘Is this person right?’ Now, I let that thought go. I let go of ‘Sara is the best,’ and I let go of ‘Sara is the worst.’ Sara is. That’s what I am focusing on.” This perspective showcases her evolving attitude towards public perception and self-acceptance, emphasizing a healthier mindset in the face of criticism.

Additionally, Sara addressed the controversies surrounding her visits to Hindu temples, explaining that her upbringing played a crucial role in shaping her views. She recounted a formative conversation with her mother, Amrita Singh, who advised her not to define herself through the confines of religion or caste. Reflecting on her childhood, she said, “I was very young, in school, and even when my parents were married and we used to immigrate together abroad, I used to always wonder… Amrita Singh, Saif Pataudi, Sara Sultana, Ibrahim Ali Khan, what is going on? Who are we? And I remember asking my mom, ‘What am I?’ And she told me, ‘You are Indian.’ And I will never forget that.” This experience underscores a broader cultural message about identity and inclusiveness in society.

On the professional front, Sara Ali Khan continues to make strides in the film industry. She was recently featured in the patriotic drama “Ae Watan Mere Watan,” highlighting the story of freedom fighter Usha Mehta. Moreover, her collaboration with Akshay Kumar in “Sky Force” has drawn attention, while she is currently engaged in filming a light-hearted spy comedy produced by Dharma Productions, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Looking ahead, her projects include Anurag Basu’s “Metro…In Dino” and an untitled romantic comedy co-starring Sidharth Malhotra, indicating a dynamic career trajectory ahead.
