Real Women Have Curves has officially debuted on Broadway! Don’t miss the opportunity to see stunning photos of stars gracing the red carpet, featuring notable figures like Sara Bareilles and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Set in the summer of 1987, the musical tells the story of Ana Garcia, a young woman with dreams of escaping her life in East Los Angeles. When her family faces a critical order to produce 200 dresses, Ana finds herself balancing her aspirations with her mother’s traditional expectations, surrounded by a community of women striving to achieve their dreams against the backdrop of societal challenges.
The cast is led by Broadway newcomer Tatianna Córdoba portraying the driven Ana, alongside Justina Machado as Carmen, Ana’s mother who envisions a conventional future for her daughter. Additional cast members include Florencia Cuenca as Estela, Shelby Acosta as Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez as Pancha, Aline Mayagoitia as Itzel, Mauricio Mendoza as Raúl, Mason Reeves as Henry, and Jennifer Sánchez as Rosalí, among others.
The production is directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo. The music and lyrics are created by Grammy-winning artist Joy Huerta and composer/lyricist Benjamin Velez, while the book is co-written by Lisa Loomer and Nell Benjamin. The music supervision is handled by Nadia DiGiallonardo.

Featuring beloved hits from ABBA, it will commence previews on August 2 and celebrate its opening night on August 14. The show will take place at the Winter Garden Theatre, where it originally opened in 2001. Its previous run was historic, encompassing 14 years and 5,773 performances—making it the ninth-longest running show in Broadway history.
