Production Begins on “Ready or Not: Here I Come”

The anticipated sequel to the hit film “Ready or Not,” titled “Ready or Not: Here I Come,” has officially kicked off principal photography in Toronto. The excitement surrounding the project is heightened by the announcement of new cast members, including acclaimed actors Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, and the renowned filmmaker David Cronenberg, who is known for both his directorial and acting prowess.

Returning to the franchise is Samara Weaving, reprising her critical role as Grace. She will be joined by Kathryn Newton, further enriching the cast. The sequel is directed by the original filmmakers, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who aim to capture the same engaging spirit that defined the first installment.

The screenplay will once again be crafted by writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, while the production team features a strong lineup, including producers Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak.

In a joint statement, directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett expressed their enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to be returning to the world of ‘Ready or Not’ with Samara, Brett, Avery and Andrew. We’re equally excited to collaborate with this immensely talented cast and the incredible crew members joining the ‘Ready or Not’ family.”

Matthew Greenfield, president of Searchlight Pictures, shared his own excitement: “We’re beyond excited to make another film with the phenomenal Radio Silence. With ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come,’ we get to go on another ride with the amazing Samara Weaving, mix in awesome new voices, and deliver a fresh take that promises to be as twisted and fun as the original. This film caters to both seasoned fans and newcomers.”

Returning to contribute their expertise are key crew members such as production designer Andrew Stearn, director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz, costume designer Avery Plewes, and makeup department head Colin Penman. Fresh faces joining the crew include editor Jay Prychidny, hair department head Ryan Reed, and sound mixer Thomas Hayek.

As production gets underway, strong oversight is provided by VP of Production Richard Ruiz and creative executive Cornelia Burleigh for Searchlight Pictures, all under the guidance of heads of Production and Development, DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
