Savannah Chrisley Clarifies Family Dynamics with Sister Chloe
Savannah Chrisley has taken steps to clarify a common misconception about her family, specifically regarding her sister Chloe Chrisley, affirming that Chloe is not her niece as some fans believe.
In a recent conversation with People, the former star of Chrisley Knows Best delved into the complexities of her relationship with Chloe. The two share a unique bond, as Chloe was adopted by their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, in 2016.
To provide context, Chloe is the biological child of Kyle Chrisley—Todd’s son from a previous relationship—and Kyle’s former partner, Angela Johnson. Due to estrangement from Kyle, Chloe is also Savannah’s half-sibling. Todd is also the father of Lindsie Chrisley and shares sons Chase and Grayson Chrisley with Julie.
“My heart, honestly, breaks for Chloe because she has faced numerous challenges in her young life,” Savannah expressed in the interview. “Her biological parents turned their backs on her at a very young age. By the time my parents gained custody, her biological father and mother had both severed ties with her.”
According to Savannah, the adoption of Chloe was a direct response to the difficult circumstances she was living in, rather than a decision made out of a desire for an additional child. “My parents took Chloe in out of love and a commitment to provide her a better life,” Savannah explained. “They wanted to save her from a troubled situation.”
Frustrated by the persistent misconception, Savannah urged fans to understand the truth about their family dynamic. “It’s disheartening when people emphasize race to create divisions,” she commented. “When Chloe sees me, she views me as her sister. Yet some people insist on defining relationships through labels, which only serves to hurt her.”
Savannah also highlighted how Todd and Julie approached their parental role. “They never pressured Chloe to call them mom and dad,” she noted. “In fact, my dad struggled with the notion because he felt guilty that his son’s child had to call him dad. He shouldn’t have felt that guilt, as the responsibility fell on Chloe’s biological father.”
The reality star emphasized that Chloe grapples with the public confusion surrounding their family ties. “Chloe truly struggles with this issue. It bothers her when people refer to me as her aunt or label my dad as her grandpa, because that’s not how she sees her relationships,” Savannah explained.
As the legal guardian of both Chloe and Grayson, especially during Todd and Julie’s incarceration due to fraud and tax evasion convictions, Savannah described their close-knit relationship. “We are inseparable. Chloe, Grayson, and I are like a triad of best friends. We face everything together, supporting one another at every turn,” she shared.
