The Winnipeg Sea Bears have announced that the health of their key player, Chad Posthumus, has deteriorated while he remains in hospital.
The 33-year-old athlete was hospitalized after experiencing a brain aneurysm during a training session over the weekend. Following the incident, he underwent a lengthy and complicated surgical procedure aimed at addressing the aneurysm.
On Thursday, the Sea Bears disclosed via a social media update that, unfortunately, complications arose during surgery, leading to a change in Posthumus’s status to critical care. He has since been transferred to the intensive care unit for closer monitoring and support.
