Secret Service Officer Injured in Negligent Discharge Incident
A member of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Uniformed Division suffered an injury in Washington, D.C., on Saturday night due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound resulting from a negligent discharge of his service weapon.
The incident took place around 8 p.m. near the intersection of 32nd and Fessenden streets in the northwest area of the city. According to a statement from the USSS provided to Fox News Digital, the officer was on duty at the time when the firearm accidentally discharged while being handled.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the agent were reported to be non-life-threatening, and he has since been transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Lt. Paul Mayhair, a public information officer for the USSS Uniformed Division, confirmed that there were no other injuries reported in connection with this incident.
