Utility Pole Struck by Pickup Truck in Clark County
A section of road in Clark County is closed following an incident where a pickup truck collided with a utility pole early Wednesday morning.
WHIO Traffic Reporter Jake Magnotta is expected to share alternative routes for drivers affected by the closure on News Center 7 Daybreak, airing from 4:25 a.m. to 7 a.m.
According to reports from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:37 a.m. The collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. 40 and S. Tecumseh Road.
Dispatch from OSHP confirmed that a Chevrolet pickup was involved in the crash, striking a utility pole. The impact caused the pole to fall, bringing down live electrical wires in the area.
In response to the situation, Ohio Edison was dispatched to the scene to neutralize the electrical hazard and has plans to replace the damaged pole in the near future.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from this incident. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
