2024 Billboard Music Awards to Feature SEVENTEEN and Teddy Swims

SEVENTEEN and Teddy Swims have been announced as the first acts scheduled to perform at the upcoming 2024 Billboard Music Awards. This year’s event will be hosted by comedian and actress Michelle Buteau, and is set to air on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Fans can also catch the show on Fire TV Channels or on-demand via Paramount+, with additional performances expected to be available on Billboard.com and associated social media platforms.

Both artists have made significant strides on the Billboard charts throughout 2023. Teddy Swims achieved notable success with his single “Lose Control,” which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in March. His follow-up track, “The Door,” managed to secure the No. 24 spot in October. Moreover, Swims’ debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in May, with its sequel slated for release in late January. In the realm of K-pop, SEVENTEEN has demonstrated impressive chart performance, boasting six top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 since mid-2022 and clinching the No. 1 position on Billboard‘s Artist 100 chart in May 2023.

This year, both artists are in contention for several awards. SEVENTEEN has been nominated for top K-pop touring artist, while Teddy Swims is a finalist in eight categories, including top new artist and top Hot 100 song.

Among the leading finalists for this year’s awards are Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter, who have all garnered substantial recognition over the past year.

The 2024 BBMAs marks a significant return to FOX, which previously aired the awards from its inception in 1990 through 2006. Viewers will also have access to the show on Paramount+ for on-demand streaming, with Fire TV Channels providing convenient access for Amazon device users.

This year’s Billboard Music Awards promises to showcase the biggest achievements in music through a combination of exclusive performances, artist interviews, and award presentations that will occur across various locations and during sold-out tours. Additional performances, including a special appearance by Shaboozey from W Hollywood—part of the Marriott Bonvoy brand—are also anticipated as more details unfold.

The BBMAs celebrate the music industry’s most prominent artists, albums, songs, producers, and songwriters from various genres, determined by year-end performance data from the Billboard charts. The eligibility period for these awards aligns with the tracking dates of Billboard’s Year-End Charts, covering music consumption from October 28, 2023, to October 19, 2024.

Produced by dick clark productions, the Billboard Music Awards is under the ownership of MRC, with MRC and Penske Media serving as co-parent companies of Billboard.

This event is presented by Marriott Bonvoy, which encompasses over 30 hotel brands within Marriott International’s travel program. For more details, visit MarriottBonvoy.com.
