SEVENTEEN has provided an exciting glimpse into their upcoming activities, hinting at a new tour, a unit single album, and several surprises.
SEVENTEEN embarked on their musical journey on May 26, 2015, with the release of their debut EP, 17 Carat.
Fans of SEVENTEEN have much to look forward to as the renowned K-pop group gears up for a significant comeback in 2025 with their fifth full-length album titled HAPPY BURSTDAY. This announcement arrives just seven months after the release of their last album, SPILL THE FEELS, which was launched in October. Notably, the album release aligns perfectly with the group’s 10th debut anniversary on May 26, adding a layer of significance to the occasion. The group has already shared a teaser that hints at a thrilling season ahead, featuring a new tour, a unit single album, and additional surprises that remain under wraps.
All 13 members—S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino—contributed to the making and recording of the new album. Even Jeonghan and Wonwoo managed to participate in the project before commencing their military service. The album title, HAPPY BURSTDAY, reflects a blend of the words ‘birthday’ and ‘burst’, symbolizing the vibrant energy SEVENTEEN aims to convey. After a decade together, the group is eager to embark on a new chapter, explore fresh ideas, and showcase a daring and distinct side of their artistry.
In 2024, SEVENTEEN made history as the first K-pop group to perform on the main stage at Glastonbury. During a conversation with NME, member Jun remarked, “For those who might be seeing us for the first time, the first thing that would most likely come to their mind is the fact that we have a lot of members. I think we can leverage that to show a very special appeal that only we have as a team, as three units [the performance unit, hip-hop unit, and vocal unit], and as individual members, so we’ll try to blow their minds with this weapon that we have.”
While speaking about future plans, Seungkwan recently reassured fans about an forthcoming tour, stating, “We know how much our fans are waiting for us there. I can’t say for sure at this point in time, but we’re definitely talking to the company, and we want to make it happen.”
The announcement of SEVENTEEN’s new album, HAPPY BURSTDAY, comes on the heels of Hoshi and Woozi’s recent collaboration as a duo. Their unit debuted on March 10 with a single album titled Beam, featuring the main track “96ers” alongside two additional songs, “Stupid Idiot” and “Pinocchio.” This duo marks the second subunit of the group to release new music in 2025, following the earlier launch of another unit named BSS, consisting of Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan, who put out their single album Teleparty just last month.
