Upcoming Action Thriller ‘Shadow Force’ Unveils Trailer

In an exciting collaboration, Emmy Award winner Kerry Washington partners with Lupin star Omar Sy in the adrenaline-fueled action thriller, Shadow Force. This film tells the gripping story of a couple with unique skills who find themselves at odds with their previous employer. A newly released trailer reveals intense gunfights and high-stakes scenarios as they desperately fight to protect their son and escape from their past.

Directed by Joe Carnahan, known for his work on films like Smokin’ Aces and Death Wish, Shadow Force centers on Washington and Sy’s characters, Kyrah and Isaac. Previously leaders of a global special forces unit called Shadow Force, they attempt to leave their violent lives behind after falling in love. However, their past catches up to them, forcing them into a dangerous underworld to safeguard their family.

The film’s narrative portrays how this couple’s fight for survival escalates into a full-blown conflict, with their former organization pursuing them relentlessly. They are not just protecting themselves, but also their child, adding a poignant layer to their motivations.

Shadow Force features a stellar cast, including Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Method Man, Mark Strong, and Jahleel Kamara. Co-written by Carnahan and Leon Chills, the film is slated for a theatrical release on May 2, 2025. The official synopsis promises a gripping storyline: “In SHADOW FORCE, Kyrah and Isaac were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war.”

Washington has made a name for herself through iconic roles in productions such as the political drama Scandal, the acclaimed film Ray, and Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Omar Sy, who gained fame from the uplifting film Intouchables, also has appeared in blockbuster franchises including Jurassic World and Transformers, and has led the Netflix series Lupin. Both actors have also ventured into the Marvel universe, showcasing their versatility across genres.

Sy’s career trajectory as an action star is on the rise, and Shadow Force is only one example of his burgeoning portfolio. Recently, he teamed up with Nathalie Emmanuel in a remake of John Woo’s The Killer. Additionally, it has been announced that Sy will take the lead in a television spin-off of the Extraction series, titled Mercenary. This new project promises to deliver thrilling action as Sy portrays a mercenary tackling a high-stakes mission in Libya, confronting various emotional challenges amidst life-threatening choices.

This blend of action and emotional depth is expected to resonate with audiences, as both Kerry Washington and Omar Sy bring their dynamic performances to the screen.
