Shah Rukh Khan Wins Best Actor at IIFA 2024 for Jawan

Shah Rukh Khan has been honored with the Best Actor award at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024 for his performance in the blockbuster film “Jawan.” The prestigious award was presented to him by renowned director Mani Ratnam and celebrated musician AR Rahman, marking a significant moment at the ceremony.

As he accepted the award, a touching moment was captured on video, showcasing Khan’s respect for both Ratnam and Rahman. He paid his respects by touching Ratnam’s feet before embracing both the filmmaker and the composer, evoking nostalgia for their previous collaboration in the film “Dil Se.” The actor then expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the IIFA, the audience, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.

For his role in “Jawan,” Khan triumphed over a formidable group of nominees. The others shortlisted for the Best Actor category included Vikrant Massey for “12th Fail,” Ranbir Kapoor for “Animal,” Ranveer Singh for “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” Vicky Kaushal for “Sam Bahadur,” and Sunny Deol for “Gadar 2.”

This year, Khan also took on the role of co-host for the IIFA event alongside Vicky Kaushal. The duo entertained the audience with their playful chemistry, even showcasing dance moves to popular tracks such as “Oo Antava” and “Tauba Tauba.” Notably, they were joined on stage by Karan Johar, and the trio delighted attendees by dancing to “Jhoome Jo Pathaan,” the title track from Khan’s recent film.

IIFA 2024 was held in Abu Dhabi, and the festivities were not limited to Khan’s victory. Rani Mukerji was named Best Actress for her powerful portrayal of a mother in “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.” Additionally, “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, claimed the award for Best Film, while Vidhu Vinod Chopra received nods for Best Director for “12th Fail.” The film “Animal” also garnered accolades for Best Supporting Actor (Male), awarded to Anil Kapoor, and Best Performance in a Negative Role, which went to Bobby Deol, highlighting the competitive spirit of this year’s event.
