With this new achievement, Shakira now has a total of 24 Latin Airplay number-one hits, further solidifying her record as the female artist with the most chart-toppers since the chart’s creation in 1994. The singer is followed by Karol G, who has secured 18 No. 1 hits. Among all artists, Shakira shares the sixth spot for the total number of number-ones with Maluma.

“Soltera” not only tops the Latin Airplay list but also enjoys a 12-week reign on the Latin Pop Airplay chart. The track garnered an impressive audience of 11 million in U.S. radio airplay during the week of December 20-26, according to data from Luminate.

As “Soltera” ascends to the top, it replaces Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” which held the position for an impressive 23 weeks, marking the second-longest tenure at No. 1 in Latin Airplay history. Shakira’s own hit “La Tortura,” featuring Alejandro Sanz, still holds the record with 25 weeks in the top spot in 2005, although its dominance was interrupted twice.

Here is a quick summary of artists with the highest number of Latin Airplay No. 1 hits:

36, J Balvin

34, Ozuna

32, Enrique Iglesias

28, Daddy Yankee

25, Bad Bunny

24, Maluma

24, Shakira

Notably, “Soltera” marks Shakira’s first No. 1 single without a featured artist since her hit “Loba” in 2009. Of her 24 number ones, she has achieved six as a solo artist, with her initial four hits coming between 1998 and 2003, starting with “Ciega, Sordomuda.”

Additionally, “Soltera” previously reached No. 9 on the Hot Latin Songs chart in October, making it her 37th entry in the top 10, further affirming her record as the leading female artist in that chart’s history since its inception in 1986.
