The fourth season of Shark Tank India continues to deliver intriguing pitches.
Ritesh Agarwal and Aman Gupta are part of Shark Tank India 4.
The ongoing fourth season of Shark Tank India is presenting viewers with a range of compelling business proposals. Recently, entrepreneurs Paurav and Shamin from Delhi showcased their startup, Speed Kitchens. This company specializes in providing shared kitchen facilities for various brands, effectively removing many of the logistical hurdles associated with running individual kitchen setups.
In their pitch, Paurav and Shamin requested an investment of Rs 2 crore in exchange for a 3% stake in their venture, which they valued at Rs 66 crore. The panel of investors, including Aman Gupta, Ritesh Agarwal, Vineeta Singh, Azhar Iqubal, and Kunal Bahl, found Paurav’s personal journey particularly captivating. He shared insights from his eclectic background, which included working with OYO prior to the pandemic. When Vineeta inquired if he had collaborated with Ritesh, a smile crossed Paurav’s face, leading to a moment of recollection for Ritesh.
The sharks were notably impressed by Paurav’s in-depth knowledge of operational management and commended the duo for building a viable and profitable business model. Kunal remarked, “Typically, entrepreneurs gravitate towards glamorous sectors, like developing apps. What you’re doing isn’t flashy, and that’s what makes it profitable.”
Nonetheless, Aman noted an unusual change in Paurav’s demeanor when interacting with Ritesh, humorously suggesting that something was off: “Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya,” and inquiring about Paurav’s timid nature around Ritesh. Paurav clarified, “I’ve observed him closely and witnessed various facets of his personality, but there is no issue.”
The remark about Ritesh’s demeanor caught Vineeta and other sharks off guard, who playfully dismissed the idea that he could have anger issues. She responded lightheartedly, “Hum toh maan hi nahi sakte.”
As the discussion progressed, the sharks were intrigued why Paurav hadn’t directly sought funding from Ritesh. He explained that after his tenure at OYO, they had lost contact, but he had made attempts to reach out, presuming Ritesh was preoccupied. Ritesh then made a counteroffer, proposing Rs 2 crore for a 10% stake, with Azhar supporting this offer. Impressed by the entrepreneurs, Kunal later raised his bid to Rs 3 crore for a 10% share, with Ritesh matching this amount as well.
