Shedeur Sanders became the center of attention during the NFL Draft after experiencing a prank call that captured widespread attention. Interestingly, Johnny Brennan, the mastermind behind The Jerky Boys, shared that this is one topic they wouldn’t have approached.
TMZ Sports recently caught up with Brennan, who expressed his take on the prank call that has since gone viral. While he finds the incident somewhat amusing, he elaborated on why the Jerky Boys typically avoid content related to the draft.
Brennan pointed out that a key factor in the success of their iconic pranks was their lighthearted nature. The conversations often revolved around bizarre and absurd circumstances rather than being mean-spirited.
In essence, the Jerky Boys never aimed to mock someone awaiting a life-changing call regarding their NFL career. Instead, they preferred to create hilarious scenarios, such as joking about auditioning for the New York Yankees.
Regarding the backlash surrounding the prank, Brennan suggested that some individuals may need to relax. Ultimately, Shedeur had his moment when he was drafted by the Browns as the 144th overall pick.
Notably, Jax Ulbrich, the son of the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, admitted to orchestrating the prank and publicly apologized for his actions.
However, Sanders was not the only target during the extended drafting event, as numerous players found themselves in similar situations throughout the three-day span.
Fortunately for Sanders, it appears he has moved on from the incident, having spoken with Jax on Sunday.
